Our heritage dates to the late 1950’s when the Dodson family moved to North Texas to pursue commercial real estate projects. Over the years the company has continued to grow and expand its services. In 2023 we outgrew our name and rebranded as Street Realty. The brand reflects our passion for urban core commercial projects and our commitment to enriching the lives of our customers and team members.
1958
Not necessarily the start, but certainly a key moment. C.B. Dodson, along with his younger brother J.C. Dodson moved from Lufkin, TX to Arlington, TX, and set up shop on West Division Street under the Dodson Brothers brand. The brothers pursued commercial construction projects in North Texas as builders & developers.
1966
The Dodson Brothers, using their construction and development experience, pitched an up & coming hotel brand on the growth and opportunity in Arlington. They built the first Holiday Inn in North Texas at the site of the current AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
1975
After a good run at Dodson Brothers, C.B. & his 26-year-old son Jerry decided to join forces and continue commercial construction, development & investment under the newly formed C.B. Dodson Enterprises. The new company built one of the first self-storage facilities in North Texas in Arlington – Mini Warehouse Company.
1980’s – 1990’s
C.B. Dodson Enterprises continued to build, develop, manage, & invest in commercial real estate in North Texas. They survived the savings and loan crisis and were able to take advantage of the days when the RTC was liquidating assets. C.B. Dodson passed away in in 1994 and Jerry continued the family business.
2001
Jerry partnered with his son Ryan to form Dodson Development and continue the family’s long-standing history of commercial real estate projects. Under Dodson Development the two began developing single-family lot subdivisions, acquired several self-service car washes, and acquire value-add urban properties.
2009
Single-family lot development lost its luster during the great financial crisis, however, through creativity and hard work the company persevered and worked its way out of all remaining inventory. During this pivot, Ryan uncovered an opportunity to reimagine a block of old buildings in Downtown Arlington. Dodson Developments’ entry into urban core development had begun.
2019
As an established developer, manager, & investor of urban properties, Dodson CRE (rebranded from Dodson Development in 2018) had grown into a nearly full-service commercial real estate operator. The one gap was brokerage services – which was filled when Alex Bryant joined the company as President of Broker Services.
2023
Street Realty is born from an established history of quality projects, and a passion for future growth. The Dodson name provided the platform to launch, but no longer captured the vision & scale of the co-founders of Street Realty – Ryan & Alex. Jerry remains an active investor & advisor as Chairman Emeritus, while Alex & Ryan focus on the company’s growth.
